Keith Johnson

A serial entrepreneur, Keith has more than thirty years in various executive positions at multiple startup and early stage companies. Keith has also nurtured, consulted with and participated in the funding of several companies. Keith has developed and implemented sales, marketing, business development, distribution and licensing programs at multiple startup and early stage companies serving as CEO, COO and as VP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Keith is proficient in hardware and software technologies, fantasy gaming, financial services, publishing, sports marketing, media and youth e-learning. Keith is a consummate relationship builder from small company to large company, creative strategic thinker and tactical implementer and culturally adept with global perspective and experience.

Keith is currently Managing Partner for Sports LearningEdge, LLC. Sports LearningEdge (SLE) designs, produces and licenses mobile applications and associated content to teach kids the basic sport skills needed to keep playing and have fun. SLE also offers kids age appropriate content on nutrition, healthy living and sportsmanship. SLE uses 3D animations, HD videos and multi lingual audio and text to help kids get an edge in playing sports. Significant accomplishments include securing contracts with NBA China, USA Basketball and the National Hockey League.

Keith was a founder and CEO of Reliable Technologies. Reliable was awarded several patents in the fault tolerant and virtualization technology space targeted at making commodity-computing platforms robustly fault tolerant using inexpensive software versus traditional and more expensive redundant components, real-time replication and fast failover and restart techniques.  Patents were sold in 2011.

Keith was CEO of PowerProse. PowerProse built a virtual network of more than 600 freelance writers and editors. Users could upload existing works to a searchable database, which was sold via subscriptions to newspapers and web sites. PowerProse also created summaries and real time transcripts of public company quarterly earnings conference calls broadcast via the Internet. Through a distribution agreement with a leading Wall Street Information Supplier, content sold via subscriptions to Wall Street investment professionals. Responsible for writing business plan, securing 3 rounds of funding, building BoD and senior management team, and marketing, sales and business development.

Keith was CEO and COO of Replica Corp. Replica was a leading developer and supplier of interactive simulation games based on participant skill and knowledge. Under the brand names Stadium Sports and Wall Street Portfolios, fantasy sports and simulated personal investing products were both marketed directly to consumers and branded by major consumer product companies and various sports league licensing groups.

Keith has earlier experience at Stratus Computer and Sequoia Systems, during which both companies had their IPO. Held a variety of sales, marketing and business development positions including VP of Marketing, VP of Strategic Accounts, W/W VP of Telecommunications, VP of International Sales, Japan Country Manager and Wall Street district sales manager. Responsible for strategic relationships with Hewlett Packard, IBM, Samsung, Sumitomo, Toshiba, AT&T, Fidelity Investments, Motorola, and several professional sports leagues’ player’s associations. Established subsidiary and distributor operations throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and South Africa. Also worked at Data General and Burroughs in various sales, marketing and engineering positions, and the US Dept. of Labor as an economist.

Keith lives outside Boston in Weston, Massachusetts with Marilyn, his wife of 26 years, 21-year-old twins Andrew and Erin and dogs Ollie and Milo. Keith graduated from The College of the Holy Cross with a degree in economics.
